Well, most of you know I am capped. Been that way for a while now. I guess the thing that I see the most is folks say they will purchase "this, this, and this" when they get there. The drag is, I gotta call
I fall into both categories. I spend a ton of gold. On alot of stuff. I buy things because I want them. But I make alot too, as I won't spend more than what I made in that week (average around 10K a day, so 70K a week). I will not "dip" into last weeks sales for something I want. I will however dump whatever amount is needed to restock my mats without blinking an eye, as that is an investment, not a "want or need". Two completely different situations there...
I felt that hitting the gold cap is the same as some folks feel about downing a 25 man heroic boss. It takes quite some time, alotta patience, and alotta experience. You can't cap with zero information. You can't cap without time. You can't cap without frustration. You can't cap without others help. Wait. Let that one sink in. You cannot hit the gold cap without others help. People farm goods that we buy and resell. People farm goods that we prospect. People farm goods that we mill. People farm leather that we craft with. And most important of all, people buy our stuffs.........
I feel that hitting the gold cap is a huge accomplishment. Some call it bragging, some call it a waste of time (thinking capped players are on 24/7), some say "I dont care to hit it" (as in I am happy with XXX thousand). I call
Whatever the case, once you hit the cap, get your diploma. WarcraftEcon (no, I am not affiliated with them in any way- I know you hear that alot from me) has a whole interview process for everyone that hits the cap. I look at them as the Harvard or Yale of Goldmaking. You get your "degree" from them. No classes are taught there, but you get the recognition for a job well done. If you don't have your name on their list, to me, you didn't cap. Sorry if that offends you, but tuff. So if you are reading this and you are at a million (or more- or less- they also have a 500K club) email them and get an interview setup. You can find the information here on their Hall of Fame page.
Oh wait. The topic is what I would do when I hit the cap. Nothing different. I still spend, I still craft goods, I still make trips to the AH. So I really don't have a good answer to that question, just alotta rambling from a hungover Alto.
