4.1.0 - Whatcha Need to Know.

Alto rhymes? Don't quit your day job...

Finally. 4.1.0. It's here. Was it worth the wait? I am still wondering. There have been quite a few changes, and others that, although expected, haven't hit home just yet.

Of course there is the Obsidium Shuffle, or Obsidium Le Soufflet as we might as well call it. The vendor prices took a significant loss, 9g to 5g. So what we knew as a 45g floor is now a 30g baseline.

Those that read and keep tract of my blog know that I follow my 6/36 rule. If your Hypnotic Dust is 6g, and your Greater Celestial Essence is 36g, you are sitting on a near "break even" profit with purchasing the ore at 50g per stack (that includes the price of the Jeweler's Settings). So invest accordingly.

Did you go and get your Panther Cub yet? There is a bit of a questline in STV (Some good will come is the name of it) that allows you to get a nice little companion pet, make sure you take some time and visit "down south". Who doesn't like questing? Ok, you got me. This guy. But for a pet, I am down.

Speaking of pets, did you buy your Winterspring Cub yet? The "pet" vendor in Everlook, Michelle DeRum, sells one of these cute little pets for 50g. Check your AH, and getcha some sales!

Did you all take my advice? All of my previous 4.1 posts are bearing nature right now:

"Blue Gems" and the Upcoming Patch 4.1.0

Archaelogy Updates and AH Tank Sales

Yeah, Alto is posting on the Obsidium Shuffle

4.1.0 Jewelcrafting Recipe: The Punisher's Band

If you haven't checked them out, click away. Some good reads covering what we are running into now. Oh, and don't forget the 4.1 Rare Mobs with the "better" gear droprates. Who needs an addon when you have Alto to find em for you? Shh. Don't answer that...

The 4.1.0 Rare Mob List/Locations/Screenies

Alto! What about the rares? Did you get your drop? Yeah, you all are gonna hate me for this, but I didn't even get out to hit up Poseidus for the mount....

You want a few more hits on 4.1.0? Okay. Here's a few other things I am doing:

With the “Call to Arms” in full swing (basically for Tanks and Priests), you will see the flasks and pots fly off the AH. Don’t forget your buff food as well.

Keep an eye on your “cut” blue gems. These will be a hot seller for some time. Depending on your server, you will see and influx of Inferno Rubies, Demonseye and Ember Topaz selling in quantities. Make sure you have them posted, as if they sit in your bags or bank, so will your gold.

Keep those pets up in the AH. There are added Achievements in this patch, and folks will be looking for the more “rare” companions. This is where you come in. Whether they are old school Lil’ Smoky or the newer Personal World Destroyer, get em up to sell!

With the new iLvl “recruitment” for the ZA and ZG, folks will still be needing your crafted PvP gear. Now the sales aren’t gonna make you a millionaire, they will supply you with some income for the near future.

Check out your prices on enchants. With the new gear comes the need for Enchants. Make sure that you utilize your “old school” Wrath enchants, as they will continue to have a need and a want at your local auction house.

If you read around the blogsosphere lately, you might know I am in the middle of a few projects here and there....I have been working on getting my .com going (sneak peek here on my guide page), just updated a great guide for 20K (as well as my own) and countless other things behind the scenes (you will hear about them soon enough!). Speaking of Alto's Guide, did you get your Achievement?

Part III- Cataclysm Rare Spawns- The Addon- NPC Scan

Hey folks! In Part I and Part II, I showed you the locations and drops for the Cata rares. For part III, I am covering two things.

One, it's the final part of the series, and two, this is my monthly contribution to Cold's Gold Factory. Cold's topic this month is Supplementary Addons, and this fits the bill.

If you are familiar with using addons, this is a breeze. Hit up curse.com to search around, or just click these links to download: NPC Scan, NPC Scan Overlay. Toss them in your "addons" folder, and you are good to go. Remember, you need both downloaded, one won't work. BOTH. If you use curse client, it will give auto updates, but in this case, either or is fine.

As for how to use it, well.....you really don't do anything. Install it, and just look at your map. Above, you can see that the minimap has a "colored" bar that shows the mobs "tracks", and basically the same thing on the "full map" (see below: 2,3,4,5). If you look at the lower left of the map window (1), you an see the names that correlate with the mobs.

Now go getcha farming on! Go ahead, you can check back tomorrow.

Part II- Cataclysm Rare Spawn List- Locations/Loot

Well, here we are at Part II....

Once again, the pics are of the spawn locations according to wowhead, and the links I provided on the names are the wowhead.com loot table. If you missed yesterdays post, Part I, go have a look!

For those that use add-ons, there is one that I use on a limited basis for rare mob farming, which look later this week for a how to post. For now, you can do the good ol' fashioned way and farm off of looking at a map. Deal?

Terborus Tiefenheim

Golgarok Tiefenheim

Overlord Sunderfury Twilight Higlands

Tarvus the Vile Twilight Highlands

Get moving today and farm yourself up some of these mobs. The BoE's they will "give" you normally fluctuate from around 450g to 2500+ (depends on server of course), but if you can knock out a few while you are in an area, free is free, right? See ya'll tomorrow!

Part I- Cataclysm Rare Spawn List - Locations/Loot

Now some of you folks out there are big into farming (I know, you don't have to hide). One of my favorite past-times is running around and farming these mobs. Now of course they are on a "Blizzard Timer" (4 to 8 hours- but once again, RNG), but odds are if you do a route to the different areas, you can hit up at least one. Due to most of the drops being Rare "BoE's", they are a very farmable mob if you are in the area.

*Edit- I have added Part II and Part III- The Addon

The pics are the "spawn locations" according to wowhead, and the links on their names provide you with the "dropped loot" of these spawns (mouse over their name below to see the loot). Due to their being a handful more, I didn't want to mash them into one post, so expect Part II to hit the "shelves" tomorree. Without further ado, here's you go:

    Blazewing Hyjal

    Thartuk the Exile Hyjal

    Shok'sharak Vashir

    Poseidus Vashir

    Burgy Blackheart Vashir

    Lady La-La Vashir

Hope this helps you find not only the rares, but some great loot as well! Some of the drops will actually sell very well on the AH, so keep that in mind when listing them. See ya'll tomorrow!

Banwave to Pyrox Bots - How this Affects Us AH'ers

I log in this morning to do my daily ritual, and what do I notice? Very little Elementium Ore. No Obsidium Ore. What's the deal? Is someone stockpiling? Was there a banwave of bots again? Yesterday, I pondered why there was more than just a quick 4 hour server downtime, then maintenance, server restart, and another download.

Obsidium Ore in AH- Nothing there?!

As per my normal ritual, I had about an hour to play this morning. And due to seeing this new niche market pop, I hopped on my herbie and went to Hyjal. Want to know what I got?

An hour in Hyjal gave me 244 Obsidium Ore, 218 Cinderbloom, 86 Volatile Earth, a few uncommon gems, and 124 Volatile Life: Total farm at current prices? Hold onto your hats..... 3480GPH. Even with the recent Whiptail "goof" from Blizz, I didn't even hit 3K. And now without bots taking MY nodes? Wow. I was surprised when I opened my bags to that one. But I didn't mention the best part, which brings my hour farm to almost 5K? The rare mob Blazewing, found along my farming route in Mt. Hyjal. Blazewings Furious Kilt.

At this time, I am on skype hollering at a few buds, Xander of Xander's Gold Mine, and Adam of Exploit my Server, and we start chatting a bit about it. So I start checking around after Adam mentioned word of a  banwave happening....

The forums for Pyrox pop up on my google search. After checking the website forums, I noticed a few things...

Not just a small ban, but a huge banwave had just occurred (20K accounts and counting- I didn't think there were that many out there....I figured a few, but 20K? Damn....). Now it seems that the folks using this got hit a bit ago with their Archeology program, but now it looks as if there are abosolutely no-one running on my server one bit. Now is this good or bad? It's nice to hop on my farming toon a bit ago and actually see nodes....Everywhere.....

Now to how this will affect us all. With mats drying up, look forward to higher prices on both ore and herbs, with the "snowball" affect happening as well. Anything prospectable or millable you will see prices rise as well. Now it's only a matter of time before they [the bots] are running again, so be weary on investing too much, from what I have seen before there is only a week or two before the "rubberband affect" happens, and the prices snap back to somewhat normal. I know I am holding my mats for a day before posting, and watch the price rise....the only issue now is to play the economy right, and make the most dough we can, right? Keep an eye out, as it might take a few days to show huge differences, but when it happens, hop on the bandwagon while you can....

Do you folks see a insane peak in prices of gathering mats? Or the total amount available drop considerably?

68K Exp? One mob? CATA Rare Spawn Location, Loot, and Screenies- "Madexx"

Kinda funny how Blizz always plays on words....but anyways, whilst farming ore in Uldum, I ran upon this rare cata spawn, took care of business, and what happens upon his/her demise? 68040 non-rested xp. What a nice little bonus, since his/her loot was nothing to be proud of.

A grey that vendors for 25g. No epic/blues, not even a greenie. Grey loot. But I guess to look at it, I kinda liked the XP boost because my ore/herbie toon has killed only around 15 or so mobs, only a few quests, all the other xp has come from mining and herbing.

BTW, as an update, I am still getting great results from my mailbox, however I will not be posting my screenies (unless of course you want them...), still selling EVERYTHING, and still making around 8-10K a few times a day when I check my AH toon. =)

    Remember,
It's up to you. Either you do it, or someone else will. Remember, "If you aren't first, you're last!" (famous quote by some famous guy from some famous movie)
