SO DARK AND LONELY.

We've been spitting the Strange Talk gospel for some time now, and after the release of their fantastic debut EP on Neon Gold earlier this month (available now from the Neon Gold Shop) it's time to keep the ball rolling with the unveiling of the music video and remix package for next single "Eskimo Boy". In addition to the video above we've got an exclusive double drop of oven fresh remixes of the single in a two for the price of one deal that's almost like we're paying you... or something.

The first of the two comes from Welsh up-and-comers Vanguard, hot off barnstorming remixes of Louis La Roche and Passion Pit, who continue their rapid ascent to electro stardom with a massive floor-filling club mix of the Strange Talk original. Then it's our main man Lightwaves' turn, who puts his "yeah, I'm pretty much DJing your dreams right now" spin on the track with a gradually building masterpiece that eventually erupts in a hands-in-the-lasers moment for the ages in the song's second half. He's been pretty much killing it on every remix he's touched thus far and this could be his finest work yet, drawing you in with shades of Daft Punk's "Digital Love" ("why don't you play the gaaaaame") before knocking you for six with the most epic keys breakdown since Russ Chimes changed the game with his "Starry Eyed" remix last year. WELL DONE SIR.

POPSHOP RADIO 004

Did we mention Popshop was coming up this Thursday? Well it is, and to ring it in we've got another Popshop Radio minimix from The Knocks featuring some seriously hot exclusives in the form of unreleased new remixes from Lightwaves and The Knocks themselves, both of whom take it to another level with shit-hot reworks of Strange Talk and Foster The People respectively. We've also got another amazing Popshop clip from our friends at Jackpot In The West, who've truly outdone themselves this time with their latest video recap of Popshop featuring Icona Pop and Oh Land. Check the video above, cop the minimix below and get ready for the glory on Thursday. Going to be a LARGE evening, friends.

1. "Pumped Up Kicks" (The Knocks Remix) - Foster The People
2. "Sister Wife" (Starslinger Remix) - Alex Winston
3. "Big Problem" - ANR
4. "Anna Sun" - Walk The Moon
5. "The Jackson Pit" - Xaphoon Jones
6. "Sparrow" - Savoir Adore
7. "Eskimo Boy" (Lightwaves Remix) - Strange Talk

IF YOU'RE VAGUELY ATTRACTED TO ROOFTOPS.

Freelance Whales have quietly been killing it (see: like every ad on television right now) since signing to Frenchkiss/Mom+Pop in late 2009, and their ascent from local bright young things to nationally acclaimed indie darlings continues with the release of their latest single "Hannah". Helping out on the remix package, we got our boy Lightwaves on the case, who takes the Sufjan-meets-Postal Service original and electrifies it into dreamy pop oblivion. It's got the same breathtaking endgame as the original but takes you on a very different journey to the finish line - instead of floating above Brooklyn rooftops on the wings of Freelance's lo-fi synths and frontman Judah Dadone's gentle vocal, you're moonwalking through fields of neon fireflies under fluorescent night skies. Fully equipped with Lightwaves signature handclap drums and heart-fluttering synth drops, it comes complete with a dance break in the middle eight that will get even thems without a pulse on the dancefloor - clear some space to sway around your apartment to this one, people.

UNDER THE BLUE.

There's a new thing. Lightwaves is the name, and the sound is some of the freshest electronic pop coming out of NYC at the moment. Our introduction comes by way of his debut remix, for Brooklyn darlings Savoir Adore's brilliant new single "Loveliest Creature" (cop the beautiful original here), in which Lightwaves and Savoir come together under the trees, lost amidst an enchanted forest of sprightly synths and neon fairy lights. Catch Lightwaves on the decks at Popshop next week in his NYC debut.

POPSHOP002: PENGUIN PRISON + THE KNOCKS.

The Popshop debut went down a storm earlier this month, with over 1000 people RSVPing to fill the 350 capacity room at Tammany Hall. With a line around the block for nearly two hours, the cops were summoned to break up the crowd so apologies to anyone who was turned away. Fortunately all future Popshop shows will be ticketed events, so anyone left out of the cold at the launch party will be able to purchase tickets and ensure their entry. Fortunately for anyone who missed out, our friends at Jackpot In The West were on hand filming the event and have put together an amazing "trailer" of sorts for Popshop which you can and should view below. We've also set up a dedicated Tumblr page for Popshop, which you can find HERE.

So moving onwards and upwards then, without further ado we're pleased to announce the February edition of the night, featuring a co-headlining takeover by The Knocks and Penguin Prison with support coming from NYC up-and-comers Like Diamonds live and the amazing Lightwaves on the decks all night long. It's all going down at Tammany Hall the first Thursday of the month (February 3rd), with Absolut on board once again hooking up the drink specials throughout the night. Tickets are $10 in advance and can be purchased online HERE, or $13 on day of show available for purchase on the door. The show will likely sell out though, so we'd advise you move fast and purchase online to ensure entry on the night. Full running order below:

08:00pm: Doors // 2-for-1 Absolut cocktails
09:00pm: Like Diamonds
10:00pm: Penguin Prison

Going to be a LARGE one, let's go NYC.
