Did you Know? Blizzard and Online Tickets

Not sure how many folks actually use this function, as it is fairly "new". Ever open a ticket in game and never get a response, or a generic one at that? I know I have. Reporting online is just as easy as in game, and I am gonna toss you some information on how to do it.

Now I know you are thinking, "This isn't a gold tip Alto", okay, okay. It is and it isn't. I wrote a post on the new changes to the Shuffle, and my 6/36 rule, but there were four other bloggers that hit on the new floor with the vendor changes seen in the PTR.... before I brought the post to life. If you aren't first, you are last....Anyways!

First, you will need to be logged into Battle.net. I normally have a tab open at all times on my 'puter, as it's basically a "remote AH" through there (more on that if you are interested...once again, just holler). Go to TicketHistory and you will see a screen like the pic above. If you don't see it, you aren't logged in....so log in already!

Next, you will see an "Ask A Question" page. In Step 1, you can select what your issue is: Can't log in, something is wrong, issues with account or billing, or reporting your favorite bot/trade spammer/gold seller.

Once you choose a selection, you will then be prompted to add your realm and toon (character) along with a description of what your current issue is.

Please do your best to explain all the goods....I have noticed that the better off you are explaining, the better chance you have to get a "real" response instead of the cut and paste generics that we are used to.

Look below the Description box at the bottom of the page:

The best part about using this "ticket" system is the ability to add a file (i.e Screenshot, Image from a website- Undermine for bots-, or a txt if you really feel like writing a page question).

I hope this helps you in killing off your botters, answering your questions, and/or basically making your day easier when you have an issue in-game.

Like I mentioned above, holler out if you are interested in a post on my 6/36 rule or you can always comment if there is something you are questioning in game and I will do my best to answer explaining the process.

Remember folks, the weekend is upon us, so travel back in time to Feb when I posted this Clearance Sale post explaining a few tips I use to get prepared for upcoming sales. Have a gold filled weekend folks!

"How to" Decide What To Sell- Enchanting Scrolls

Great response so far with the questions folks! Thanks, and keep em coming!

The first one that I am going to cover will take a few posts, but we will start with deciding what scrolls to sell in the AH. She mentioned checking TuJ already, but also wondering the best way to check the others that aren't listed there.

Well, there are limited spots (15) on TuJ that cover only the "Current Profitable Scrolls". If it so happens that most are unobtainable for you (rare drops, or you can't hit up Twilight to get your new recipies), you don't have the capital for purchasing Maelstrom Crystals (which will change now with the 4.1 vendor), or you are lower level and have zero access to all of these, we gotta go "old school" and check manually....Well, not really, we are still using an add-on, Auctionator.

To get the ball rolling, get to the auction house. Pull up your buy tab on Auctionator, and type in "Scroll of". As long as you have a bit of data behind you (with recent scans) you will pull up both the current auctions, and auctions that aren't up for sale (see left). This will assist you in snatching up markets that there are currently zero auctions for "X" item.

Upon scrolling down, you will see the "top end" scrolls that are available. Now this won't pull the average sales like TuJ, it will give you an idea of the current market and the prices that they are currently listed at.  Now obviously, you are not going to want to compete with 10 other auctions for "X" item, you will want to craft and hop into the lesser supplied markets here, you can feel "kinda" safe to work in when there are only a couple (as in one, two, or three) for sale.

Now just open up your Enchanting tab, use the search function (to the right of "All" on the top left of the screen), type in what enchant you are choosing, mouse over the mats needed, get your cost, and if there is no competition, I generally price scrolls at double to triple the mats cost. *Now if you are competing, then you just need to undercut them, and Auctionator does that for you automatically. =)

Now if you want to get technical, you can reset your Auctioneer data, scan twice a day for a week, and get a "recent" baseline for prices, then check your tooltip to see how many have been seen, what they have sold for, etc. Another option here is to set up a "shopping" list in Auctionator and add the scrolls there manually, and keep tabs on the ebb and flow of the prices.

For the time restricted, you can just skip over that last paragraph and only use my top "pictured" examples, they will more than provide you with enough information to decide which enchants to sell. Now stop reading and get to selling!

Don't forget, if you don't have auctions up, they won't sell. Make sure with your scrolls that you are utilizing a 24-48 hour auction, and don't fret if they don't sell right away, enchants normally sell within two days of posting for weapons, three days for 2H, and up to a week for gear. Although at current times, this might be a bit of a slow market for most, when Blizz announces new content (i.e 4.1 coming soon), the market will pick up considerably, then drop once again between content releases.

"Blizzard" Emails? How to avoid a Scam on your WoW Account

I really hope if you receive these emails, you don't click on anything. Don't get me wrong, I receive about 10 emails a week with folks trying to steal my account. It's actually getting hilarious. I really hope people don't fall for these. Most of them that I receive are like this:

Dear customer,

Due to suspicious activity, your Battle.net account has been locked. You tried to login your account too many times (403). We are concerned about whether your account has been stolen. In order to guarantee the legitimacy of your account, we need you follow these steps:

Today, I received one better (or worse) than the ones I am used to....Now I would cut and paste this one, but due to all the malicious code imbedded (basically you click anywhere in the email and you go to some "scaaary" site, I had to screenshot...

As you can see, they get quite sneaky to try to get your account information from you. This is ugly. I can see how the "uninformed" have lost their account, had someone log into your account, bla, bla, bla.

The funniest part of this one is the "If you are so lucky that you can won our mysterious prize and 5000 gold or a free Blizzard Authenticator". Really? Come on...

Some people will say "Change your email to one you don't use for anything else, just your account". To this I say "Why?". I have spoke to GM's in game, on the phone, and through email on these. I forward every email that I get to them. Blizz admin told me to ignore ANYTHING from ANYONE in my email. There are very, very, very few times they will "suspend" your account due to you not responding....

* Flashing Lights here if I knew how to do it.....

BLIZZARD WILL NOT EMAIL YOU TO CHANGE ANYTHING. EVER....DON'T CLICK.....

BLIZZARD WON'T LOCK YOUR ACCOUNT EVEN IF YOU DON'T RESPOND TO A LEGIT EMAIL.

I was told there are very few reasons they will email you....

#1. If you email them first.
#2. If you signed up for a battle.net contest- I was advised to call the 800 number to speak with an actual blizzard rep when this happens (last month, I actually did win one through their twitter contest).
#3. For a lock/ban/suspension of your account (once again, call to verify. Only get the number from the actual website you log into at battle.net).

These are just examples that I was given, I am sure there are more, but do not trust what people say, or email, or /tell, or whatever. If your account is as valuable to you as mine is to me, then CALL THEM DIRECT. Talk to a real human being. Find out whatever issue you have or are experiencing. That is truly the only way to know for sure that you are clear (and NEVER call a phone number that is emailed to you- use the number at battle.net where you log into services).

I know I capped quite a few words here and there, I am just trying to get the point across. I hope I did.
