Alto's Got Himself Crabs?! One Stop Pet Shop for Warcraft Pets!

Well, I shouldn't say "crabs", as I have only one.... This post is going to cover a great website with all the info you need to know about pets in WoW, for money or for Achievements. Although some may know about this site, those that don'e really need to check them out. This week, I will also be covering a great spot to find mounts as well....so keep an eye out! Now, back to what you came for.....

With my luck lately farming up the Formula: Crusader, I went to Terrokar Forest to fish up a PITA (pain in the ass) that has plagued me for some time. The dreaded and infamous Mr. Pinchy.

Five Highland Mixed Pools later, I got him. Now I didn't factor in back in BC how many times I tried fishing him up (probably in the mid to upper 500 times), but if you are feeling lucky, and want to check it out, let's roll. Not sure if there was a change to the droprate since 4.1.0, or if there was just a hotfix to Alto's droprates, but either way, it just seemed a bit too easy....

Fly to Terokkar Forest, there is a little spot in the lower right side of the map labeled "Terokk's Rest" (you can see the coords above, 67.8, 79.7). There are around 10'ish pools that spawn there, and basically when you start at one side, just hit the circle and by the time you get em all, the first ones are starting to respawn.

So after my tremendous luck there, I went to an old website that I used to venture to search a bit. The site that I am hitting on is WarcraftPets. The absolute only location you need for any pet in the wonderful game of WoW. Now what I mean by "any pet", is just....well.....see for yourself. In the pic below, there is a great search tab if you want to resell, farm, search by dropped, quested, or Blizz bought. Faction search? Yeah, it's there. Rarity? That too. They have em all, big and small.

Ok, ok. You don't want an ugly pet. I feel your pain. You want to see what is available.

Well, the folks at WarcraftPets got you covered...there is a "new" pet page that you can venture to. Wondering what "popped" in 4.1?  The Screenie to the left is the 4.1 page, and with a bit of searching there, you can see the same thing.

Now the last time I saw this site, it was nothing like it is now. Very easy to use, very easy to find great info on what you are looking for.


They even have added an addon section for anything from PetsPlus to BunnyHunter (which shows you how many times you looted "X" mob to get your drop- it's kinda like looking at your /played on your main....scary).

Instead of a "BoW WoW" post, I am going through some of my favorites lists this week and sharing with you some great websites that cover some great schtuff. Like I mentioned above, I will cover another favorite site of mine for mount hunting later this week. Now go getcha Crabs already!

Readers Choice- Part II & Farming "Darting Hatchling" Pet

Hey folks, here we are, two days into my toon, I am already running into issues. My daughter is sick, so I have extremly limited time to even log in. I had about thirty minutes today to "attempt" to log onto three toons, set and reset the auctions (I did a horrible job, I only reposted on one toon...more on that in a minute) and try to spend a few minutes at least on my project DK.

Luckily, I am still able to post this evening, but who knows what tomorrow brings, as she is getting worse. You guys are part of my online family, but my RL family has to take priority. Sorry folks...Well, enough of that, let's get to reading, huh?!

Due to a comment made on my post on Part 1, I decided to hit another area that I farm the hatchling pets (here you go Kammler), in fact this one is my favorite of all of them (as with most buyers too), the Darting Hatchling. See the sexxy smoke trail? That's why they (and I) love this pet.

Now to get this pet, you must first know that the spawns are on 6-8hr timers, so if you go there and see no spawns after looking around the area I list, you need to check back. I used to park toons in each area (when they were going for 2K) and log in just to grab them, log out, next toon, rinse, repeat.

Once again, they have a "sparkly" trail that grabs your attention that it is there (if you don't notice a huge nest with flippin pink eggs sticking out of it...).

When you are farming this pet, you will need to go to Dustwallow Marsh (Kalimdor) just to the East of Blackhoof Village. Once again, this "drop" is all around the area that I have highlighted.

You will know you are close when you see the dinosaurs running around. Check around every brush, tree, and hill that's in the area. Now there is a rare mob, aptly named "Dart" that roams around, he will give you a freebie green, so knock him out....(I guess it's a her if she lays eggs...my bad).

Now for the quick update on my DK.

Other than randow drops from leveling up my herbalism and mining, the drop "pet" that I posted previously, there is a recipe that I sold, Rainbow Fin Albacore.

When starting a new toon, it is a must to get some starter cash to  "flip" vendor items. In this case, 4s to 4g. The great thing, it's not even a "limited" item.
Snatch it up from your local fishing vendor in any major city.

Right outside the AH is a Fishing Supplies Vendor by the name of Shankys. Shankys sells three Cooking recipes: Recipe: Mithril Head Trout, Recipe: Rainbow Fin Albacore, and Recipe: Rockscale Cod.

Aight, that's the update, one set of AH and a couple hundo gold. I did have to invest a bit of time leveling my gathering profs, I am up to 5 hours playtime (with no push on leveling....yet). How did this noob blogger do meshing two posts in one? Alto's Readers Choice- Part I - Leveling, Drops, AH, And Noobish Mistakes

I am going to have to say, this is more of an undertaking than I thought. Don't get me wrong, I actually enjoyed the questline this time in Ebon Hold, and it's very well possible that I had skipped over some, or they have changed since I started my first DK.

While I was playing a shade here and there, I was thinking to myself all the things that people commented on. What they wanted to see, what they didn't and starting drawing up a gameplan in my head. Obviously, people didn't want to see me leveling. That is a given, as that is not what my blog is about. But that is part of the process, unless he is just going to flip items in the AH.

Now some of you might have rolled DK's before, so you are aware that you start with some gear (10c vendor if you were wondering the worth), a "blizz powerleveled" 55, and 20s. Not much in terms of cashflow. But we will get back to that soon enough.



My Ding at 58. Three levels in 2.5 hours. Could be better, but not too shabby.

 After finishing the questline in Ebon Hold and hitting 58, I turned my attention (and the quest wanted me to) go to Org through a portal. Once I got there, I was relieved, as I could then repair my gear (6g- it was red....near the end there is a questline that you smash some Scarlets in a big brawl, and due to my bad luck, I kept getting bounced back into the Scarlet Enclave and have a nice Skully demolish me in one hit. This happened five times. Noobish. I guess it could be my sleep deprived body, but I feel it was a glitch. So sue me....

So my first decision was to pick up two gathering professions to assist with my bankroll, so I hit up both the herb and the mining trainers. I needed a break, so afterwords, I hit the AH and run a quick scan while I BRB. I come back, the scan is done. I pull up Auctioneer to check on vendor items (you can see from the pic I am at 26g and change currently.

For those that aren't familiar with the vendor "snatch" function, it's very simple. First you go to the search tab on the bottom of the AH, then immediately go to the left side (under the auction goblin's picture), and there will be a tab for Searchers, and you will go down to where it says vendor and quick-click on it. Now you are wanting to type in a "Minimum Profit", and in this case, I did 20s.

Then go back to the left and see the red Search button? Hit it. To my surprise, three stacks of Eternal Water popped up on the screen. Profit 2g per stack, so a freebie 6 gold to Alto!

I had mentioned earlier that I am leveling up mining and herb at the same time to streamline my goldflow till I am able to work the market on the sever, then I will become more "crafting" profession oriented. When I first trained in Org, I ran out front (no, I didn't /duel anyone...) and started to level up.

I pick a herb, see another dot on my minimap, and go to the Copper Node....now it might be a bit hard to see in the picture, but yeah, I forgot to pick up a mining pic. Go freakin figure...I think througout this process thus far I am really getting dumber (I wasn't too sure that was humanly possible, but this is proof positive).

About 15 minutes later, I came to the conclusion that this project has made me a bit "dumberer" than I was previously, but no matter how stupid I get, I still have my memory... Takk's nest is nestled in the Upper Barrens, and last I was aware, it's a floater. Never in the same spot twice, and it used to be next to a "rare" spawn of a dinosaur. Basically, I used to run out Org's front step, roll around to near this area (see pic above for location) and circle around the mountain there, to look for the "off color" dinosaur.

Then Blizz changed the drop of the pet to an egg nest (which you can see in the pic of me looting). Basically all you need to do now is mouse over the "egg-nests" and if you see a little gold cogweel appear instead of your normal cursor, you found the spot. Now these pets I used to farm, so I will keep you updated on the locations as I level up my gathering profs. Back in Wrath, they were a 1K pet for quite some time, even hitting 2K at times, however since Cata, they are stumbling around 150-200g on most servers. So if you are leveling, it's a viable farm, but there are much better ways to gain at higher levels.
