It's all about 4.2- Inscription, Jewelcrafting, And.....

Hey folks!

4.2 is here, a "day late and a dollar short"; I was able to get on finally, and after a bit of a download, I did my usual post patch schtuffs. Updated Curse Client Addons (must have), Post/Repost, check the trainers, etc, etc. I thought I would share some of what is going on, and what you need to check on if you haven't already.

Inscription Trainer:

We have a few new items to craft (you might remember from a previous post of mine to get these asap) and hopefully you are tossing em up on the AH and already have sales.

Bloodthirsty Charm of Triumph
Bloodthirsty Eyeball of Dominance
Bloodthirsty Jawbone of Conquest

*If you didn't notice with these, they have prismatic sockets to get filled....more sales, right? =)

I hope that you also listened to me about the new Glyph of Unleashed Lightning and you had your Snowfall Ink and Ink of the Sea in your bags ready for your Northrend Research (if not, get it, because although there was premeditated thoughts on these, I have sold two so far):

Jewelcrafting Trainer:
Once again, I hope that you were prepared- We received a few craftables that burn up some of the Amberjewel and Ocean Sapphire that we have accumulated with shuffling (and Inferno Ruby-don't hate; although some servers are saying 200+ gold for uncuts, when you craft them into the signet or choker, you can get upwards of 4-500g for each for them):

Bloodthirsty Amberjewel Band
Bloodthirsty Ruby Signet
Bloodthirsty Sapphire Ring
Bloodthirsty Amberjewel Pendant
Bloodthirsty Ruby Choker
Bloodthirsty Sapphire Necklace

Now for some random SS since the patch, you might enjoy, and frankly, well, maybe they just don't get your goat. Either way, here they are....Oh, if you are wondering where the rest of the updates for 4.2 are, they are coming. Stay tuned. Same time (maybe), same channel (maybe).

TSM- Glad it was up and running- but there
are updates, make sure and download.

A few sales right when I logged in...

Question Answered- Book of Glyph Mastery and 4.2.0

No fluff, no buff, all stuff in this post. Short and sweet. There is one upcoming change to the scribes out there that I am focusing on here, and I want to make sure ya'll are in the loop if you haven't heard about it yet....and if you did, well, I am gonna burn it into your head so you remember!

Last night, I had an invite on Skype from one of the fine folks that grabbed up my AH Gold Guide. Core had a question, and after answering, I thought I better hit on it in case there are others out there wondering the same thing. "Ask Alto" is one of the bonuses/perks that come with purchasing the guide- In other words, you ask, I answer. That's customer service there! =)

Core asked about what he should do with his Books of Glyph Mastery since the change is coming where the books are no longer needed. Well, kinda....

The "learned" glyphs will still be taught with the Books, but they are being added into what is estimated to be a daily research "quest", whether it's Northrend Research or a new one all together. Whatever is decided, we are left with a conundrum here....

Part of my answer to Core was a question: Would you rather pay for a book (no cooldown) or do dailies? There are near 50+ glyphs that can be taught by the Book of Glyph Mastery, and when they go to dailies, well.....that's quite a few dailies to get all of them (and they are some of the most "profitable" glyphs out there---for the most part). I think most folks would do a mix of the two to get these glyphs, so there is still a or "want" for the no-cooldown option (notice I didn't mention "need"?).

What am I gonna do? Not a damn thing different than what I am currently doing. No change. I will still flip them, as there are always folks that have more gold than time.

In case you were wondering where and why this is being talked about, here's a little insight: A question Blizzard posted on a Ask the Dev's:

Will you provide a way to speed up the acquiring of glyphs usually acquired through research and glyph books? Glyph books (Book of Glyph Mastery) are hard to come by now that people spend so little time in WotLK content. Furlqt (NA/ANZ), 에르네스트린덴만 (KR), Kånê (EU-ES)

Yes. We will be changing the discovery spells so they can teach all possible glyphs, and the books will simply provide a no-cooldown method to do the same thing.

Buy NowNow I didn't want this to turn into a "buy my guide" post, but might as well toss in a plug for it....You can read more about it by going here or clicking the link at the top of the page. Feel safe and all kinds of secure using this. Basically, the only way you can't pay for the guide is with in game gold. Credit Card, Paypal, WU, Discover, even your debit card or ATM works. And of course, if you do have any questions after purchase, you can always holler anytime and get front row service. VIP if you will. =)

Who Let the Dogs Out? Alto's BoW WoW Part Deux

It's that time again. A week in review of my favorite posts around the blogosphere. I have to say the top one isn't even a post, as one of my favorite farming spots have returned to the game. On the Friday night JMTC meeting, Mageshadow mentioned that the Crusader Enchant is farmable once again. Cheers! I posted on this back in October 2010, and it used to be a huge goldmine for me (and is now back in my weekly rotation to farm).

After the meeting, a few of us went there to check the droprates, and here's my screenie after about an hour of farming. You see it right, three of em. Since then, I have gone back and I haven't been able to reproduce that, I was there shy of two hours and got one. So the RNG will differ.....but you all know that already. Xander (see his gold blog here) also hit up the area that evening, and he got two epics in the time I got my Formulas (but no crusaders for him).

Anyways, with that aside, here's my BoW WoW (Best of the Week in World of Warcraft):

Kaliope's Crafting Blog:

It came to my attention yesterday that there are some new Inscription and Tailoring items showing up on Wowhead, which I had somehow overlooked on my first pass of the trainers. I went back and found three new items for Scribes -continued-

Ele-Mental Gold:
While our american friends have their great Undermine Journal we europeans still lack a part of analysis when it comes to gold making. This is where the Market Watcher addon comes into play.

Capped By Cata:
Enchanting is a huge market currently on my server, as people are getting new gear and eagerly looking for the latest and greatest ways to enhance them. This is another post that will revolve around tanking as Call to Arms

Kuja's Goldmine:
While on my way to Blackrock Depths to buy a vendor sold limited supply recipe, I bumped into a level 50 rare monster called The Behemoth

PowerWord Gold:

Cata Skinning and Potion of Treasure Finding
While I'm not one to harp on "gold per hour" it was nice to see that I was able to get around 3000g worth of materials in this one hour farming session.

PrncessPwn's AH:
That is one market that can be extremely volatile. From my experience in the AH, that has been the most difficult market to get into and stay in, with deep undercutting.

Auction House Addict:

Cooking for Gold: Patch 4.1 Style
With the introduction of several new food & drink related achievements in patch 4.1, I have seen a rise in the prices of almost all the cataclysm buff foods & drinks craftable by my maxed cook. -continued-

Cold's Gold Factory:
The Amani Hex Stick used to bind-on-pickup, but since Patch 4.1 it can now be traded and sold on the auction house.  They used to disappear if you died or left the instance, so this is a nice change to the Hex Sticks.

Darkmoon Cards- Good Enough to Go All In?

With the Darkmoon Faire hitting this weekend, we are once again seeing the prices of both Decks and Single Cards go to the "normal" rate. You know what that means, right? Yeah. If you are a Scribe, don't skim. Take the time to read thoroughly, as you might learn something. =)

With the prices of Herbs on most servers seeing a definite drop from a month ago, they are starting to stabilize around the 30-40g mark per stack (Cata level herbs, Obviously). What does this mean to us? Alot. Ready for some Alto math? Don't worry, there's no tests involved....with most folks having finals coming up, thats the last I want to toss at you.

1:1- Cinderbloom, Stormvine, Heartblossom and Azshara's Veil

1.5:1 - Twilight Jasmine and Whiptail

Ok, here we go. What I mean with the ratio's above is Inferno Ink: Stack of Herbs. So if you are snatching up Cinderbloom at 30g per stack, you are "Alto Approved" through the RNG to get one Ashen Pigment, and 5 Blackfallow Inks (you can turn 2 Burning Embers into a Inferno, and you can turn 10 Blackfallow into an Inferno). Now if you grab a stack of whiptail for 40g, then you are expecting 3 Pigments, and 5 Blackfallow Inks. Make sense? Good.

Now to figure the rest. We need 10 Inferno Inks per Card. At the above numbers, 10 stacks of Cinderbloom means 300g (10 Inks). With Whiptail producing the 1.5 on average, we can get our 10 with only 7 stacks. Math? 280g. So in this case, more profits, albeit 20g, with Whiptail.

Now for Volatile Life. Not much you can do here to change the prices that are in the AH. And per Card, we need 30. So if you hit them up at 10g per, 300g there. At 5g? 150g. Easy, quick math. Now you want to know if they are profitable...

What I look at is my own little RNG (random number generator) when figuring out if Cards are profitable. Since there are 32 options made from the Darkmoon Card of Destruction proc, once again, easy math. The number I use currently use is 1600g (average sale price per card). Take the cost of above (to get your mats) and subtract. There is your estimated profit per card.

Now you want to know how I get my average sale price? Easy. Take the highest and lowest card in your AH right now (mine is 325g and 2875g) add em, and divide by two.

Hope this helps out the folks that are getting into this market, and remember, the week before and week of are "normally" the highest returns, and the most volatile as well, so watch your times and values in the AH. I see that Friday nights and Sunday days are the highest sale prices, but this may vary server to server.

Have fun, and make some gold! Oh, the Faire is outside Shatt this month...Starting Sunday!

Professions, You Got 'Em? But are they the Right Ones?

Wow. What a whirlwind weekend. During our Easter Holiday, my daughter and I went on an egg hunt, had a blast, hit up a petting zoo (and she tried to kiss a duck- not good...no, she didn't get hurt) and spent some time with the family. Good times.

Due to that, my blog missed a couple posts, and I didn't log into wow for two days. Needless to say, I had a few mails waiting that needed addressed...

Enough of that, what I want to hit on today is Professions. Most folks know that having professions equates to having gold. Don't get me wrong, you can make quite a bit of gold without them, but you can make a shitton more with them. You can make even more if you have ones that mesh. And if you aren't skeered to powerlevel them (and know when to change them by watching your AH) you can make even more. Let me explain....

Ok. You are a farmer. You pick Ore. Or Herbs. Well, you probably teamed up with Herbalism and Mining on the same toon. What? You have mining and an Engineer? Ok, makes sense. You are losing out on herbs, but you are gaining the proc Volatile Air....does it even out pricewise? Nah. I did it, I don't follow the hype. I was getting near a 8% proc per node. Not profitable, I went back to Herbalism. See where I am going with this? One, you can't believe all that you hear, and two, you must check once in a while to see if your professions are profitable, and change when needed.

Ok. You are a Obsidium Shuffler. You have Jewelcrafting and Enchanting. You take the Ore, you prospect it, you craft goods, then you D/E. Gotcha. But what if you don't have an Enchanter? You are paying someone to D/E for you? Why? Have you realized your losses? What about time lost? Yeah, it's probably quite a bit....what about *cough* stolen mats? Are you actually getting back what you should in your disenchanting? I sure hope so....

Ok. You are a Glyper. You have a Scribe. What? An actual solo profession? Yeah, it is. Well, you do need herbs. You can mill them, get the pigments, then turn them into inks, then create glyphs....wow. you don't really need anything else? But.....

Ok. You are an Alchemist. You need herbs to make your flasks. Thats it. But then you use your transmutes. You need uncut greens for Shadowspirits. You need ore/bars for Truegold. What's that? You need Volatile Lifes too? Another Transmute? yeah. More options....

See where I am going here? I hope so. Reheck your Professions. See if you have the most profitable ones. Do they mesh together or defeat the purpose? Do you have Blacksmithing and never see bars in the AH?

Do you have Leatherworking but can never find leather? By now, you should know your professions and how they are helping or hurting you. Either pat yourself on your back or get to work, and have your professions work for you, and not you work for them.

What? You are wondering what those SS are throughout the post? The Train-a-tron in Azshara of course. One stop shop for training. Second floor of the inn. Approx 57, 50.7 if you have GPS. =)

Don't Forget them Huntard's! Certificate of Ownership

So all the Hunter's out there know about this, and most other folks do as well, but I just want to give you a quick reminder...

Do me a favor, check the Certificate of Ownership on your AH. Now, check your bags/banks/alts for Celestial Ink (or even a great use for all the Blackfallow Ink that is collecting dust in your bank). Got some? I figured you did. Now check some other prices on the mats. Profitable? Yeah, I figured as much. Now you aren't gonna make a killing, but you will make a nice little profit....You just gotta remember to keep them posted.....and that's a whole other issue, huh?

If not, you Got Mill (here's a previous post on finding herbs to mill)? Got Herbs?

You don't? How about hitting up Eastern Plaguelands? There is a killa spot that I have used many times for farming Sungrass, and by the time you hit the "loop", you already have respawns....

BTW, thanks Indy for the reminder on these....it's always nice to get back into another market that I forgot about (and no, 420 had nothing to do with my memory...).

How to make 22000g in 3 hours as a Scribe

For the last week or two, prices of Cataclysm herbs have been incredibly low on some realms and less and less players are selling inks, making the prices rise. This creates "new" ways to make lots of gold, especially for Scribes.

As a Scribe I have taken advantage of the low prices by milling the herbs and creating Blackfallow Inks and Inferno Inks, which I then sell as they are to people that don't want to spend time milling herbs.

There's nice profit to be had this way if the flower prices are low enough. I invested about 6500g into Cinderbloom stacks some days ago, each costing only 13-16g.

I then sold the Blackfallow Inks for 15-20g each, depending on stack size and Inferno Inks 66g each. According to my addon I profited about 22,000g from all of them.

I had boatloads of Blackfallows so I turned majority of them into Inferno Inks instead via the Ink trader in your local Inscription shop, even though they sell for way less than Blackfallow stacks. But they do seem to sell faster than overpriced Fallows.

Someone might create Darkmoon Cards and Fortune Cards instead, but their prices have dropped a lot and one Darkmoon card costs about 800g to make, yet most Cards are worth only 200-600g and only a few are worth 4000g so there's a risk involved. You also have to wait for the next Darkmoon to make gold if you want to sell trinkets and not invidual cards. I chose the safe way and sold the Inks instead.

Some tips to not make you bored to death

This is time consuming and repetitive, so make sure you enjoy the time as much as you can.

1. Create a milling macro like this

#showtooltip
/cast Milling
/use Cinderbloom
/use Stormvine
/use Whiptail

(Add whatever herbs you are milling)

2. Drag the shiny new macro into your actionbar somewhere so you don't have to keep your mouse pointer at a specific spot

3. Watch a tv show, movie or even youtube vids and reduce them both from full screen to windowed so you can see them both. Make WoW window extremely small (You don't need to see it clearly) and keep it on top so you can press your action bar key while watching the other window at the same time.

If you have a tv nearby, it's even easier :) Music is also a good choice!

Note: It will take some time to sell them all, since you will be undercutted a lot! Also, if your AH is full of inks, it's likely you can't make as much profit. Time your auctions so there won't be a lot of competition. You can also remove the competition by buying both cheap inks and herbs ;)

Book of Glyph Mastery - What's the Deal?

Although I was only in the JMTC meeting for a short time last night, there was a bit of a debate on how exactly Books of Glyph Mastery really work....do they teach you old school recipies? Do they teach only "un-teachables"? Is unteachables even a word?

When leveling my scribe, I was popping the Book of Glyph Mastery like they were going outta style. Having not completed all of the "minor" dailies, and continuing to do the "Northrends", I got to the point of not knowing any more glyphs, where I had the popup in game saying "You cannot learn anything from using this" (or something similar).

Later on, when I started to do vendor "runs", I went to Hellfire Peninsula, and noticed that a vendor sells a recipe there...Glyph of Mana Shield, and even though I had never trained it there (or bought from the AH) I had already known it.

So basically where I am going, is that I had to have learned it somewhere, and I never thought twice until recently, when a fellow blogger was asking about leveling a scribe. I told him to hold onto the Books until he had learned all the dailies, and bought up the vendors, as I basically wasted gold using a book instead of hitting up the vendors...

To make a long story short, I am now questioning myself. After talking in the meeting about it, it seemed that the answer to this question was 50/50. I am stubborn in my belief that I know what happened. Looking at wowhead comments, I once again saw conflicting answers- One in particular with an absolute TON of information in it:

By mstieler (1·31) on 04/01/2010 (Patch 3.3.3)
447 total listings for Inscription
233 from Trainers, only 221 true "recipes" [2 researches, 4 masters inscriptions, 6 levels of inscription]
205 from
Discovery [66 Minor, 83 Northrend, 57 Glyph Mastery]
1
Drop
3 Vendor

Note: This is just the math of it; I have yet to see for myself in Books of Glyph Mastery will let you learn Glyphs other than those available only to Glyph Mastery if you haven't learned all the discovery ones.
At the very least, you can learn the 221 trainer, 3 vendor, 57 Mastery, 1 Drop, and 1 of each Research glyphs.

Edit: yes, it appears to be feasible that you can learn all the glyphs from Books of Glyph Mastery. On my Inscriptionist, I had 29 Books of Glyph Mastery to use, the day I hit Northrend Inscription, so I had only used Northrend Inscription Research once, and though I've used Minor Research multiple times, I haven't learned all the Minor Glyphs. After using my books, I had learned 3 NIR Glyphs (Lifebloom, Trueshot Aura, Holy Wrath), two of which were from the books, one from research, and a few minors, most notably Pestilence.
Last edited by mstieler on 04/06/2010 (Patch 3.3.3)

So what's the conclusion? Not really sure what to think. The book itself says that they only "Discover a Glyph Recipe that is unique to this Book". Blizz has been wrong before, was my situation "hotfixed"? Did blizz make an error?

To get to my point of this post, I am wondering what you guys have seen.....

Got Mill? Milling Search Made Easy With TSM

Ok, ok. I know some of you folks stay away from TSM like the plague. And once again, I really don't blame you. It is definitely an add-on that I love to hate. For those that don't want to mess with it to "find" mats in the AH (when making glyphs), there is an easier way...

When you open up TSM from your Auction House screen, you can look to the right "window" that appears and mouse down till you see the tootip for "Shopping-Milling/DE/Prospecting". Now click.

Now you are going to see this window take it's place. See the little milling icon? Mouse over that, you will see the mini-window to shop for items to mill, then click. Directly below the "s" on items, there is an arrow to drop the menu down......

Once you "drop down" the menu, you will see a list that you can choose which ink you are searching for. With this "addon inside an addon", when you pick the ink, it will show:

Materials to Mill (Herbs)
Any Pigments needed for the ink
The ink itself

Now below you will see the exact cost per ink (it starts from the cheapest the AH has). If you have your "browse" tab on Auctioneer open, you will see a quick scan of every available mat, and if you are prone to seizures, I warn you to watch out, as they fly through the options very quickly. Now, you just have to click the "BUY" tab to purchase the goods at the price listed.

*Be extremely careful what you purchase and at what price, as you never know if someone jacked up the price on them.

*Below the information listed (what the item is and purchase price), you will see another small window with a bit of data for you: Total Spent This Session, Inks Bought this Session, and Average Cost Per Ink this Session.

Hope this little bit of info helps you in your Got Mill? needs, and help you rock out more Glyphs to sell in the AH. You might also want to hit up reselling the inks if there is too much competition on your server with glyphs....

Help! I Need Somebody, Help! Not Just Anybody! Using Auctionator

Eh Beet-ulz (you might have to read that again...say it out loud if you have to)

I think they said it best with that set of lyrics. Time and time again, whether it is answering emails, "PM's" on Twitter, or chatting on Skype or on Friday's meetings in JMTC, I get asked quite a few questions. I always do my best to answer them. I have done many posts on reader's questions that just cannot be answered in a quick response, so I dedicate a post to them.

I enjoy helping folks. I enjoy finding niche markets for people, I enjoy seeing that when I advise someone to do something it works.

Last night, I was answering a few questions here and there (like most nights I am on) and I tossed some information out:

After the new xpac release, the Cata Herbs in my AH were sparse. Not that there wasn't any available, but the prices were just too high for my "normal" purchasing needs. When I invest, I prefer to [at least] double my investment or I don't feel it's worth my time. So I needed to look a bit further into my AH to see what I can do. My glyph supplies were running low, and I wasn't sure which route to take.

Using Auctionator, I typed in "Glyph of" and tapped search. After 50+ pages, I started seeing that there were multiple options to purchase them for slivers, and restock and resell them by "resetting" the price. I know I have talked about this before, so you should be on the same page. If not, just do a quick search on this page to find the post.

Now fast forward to last night. In Skype, I was chatting it up and explaining my process on "flipping" items in the AH. How I do it, what I look for, and how to buy/resell them. Then I mentioned to him to use the "Glyph of" search. We talked it over, and advised him as we went along. Glyph of XXXX (a healing totem I believe), a few listed as 20s, a few at 40s, and a few around a gold. Total investment was less than 5g. I had him relist for 125g, even though the "normal" price for the glyph was around 30ish gold.

We went through a few more, and I had him buy out a few different situations (back to the "you can give a man a fish when he's hungry, or you can teach him to fish so he is never hungry again"). Another Glyph had a few gold of buyouts, then it went to 6g, 7g, and so on. We bought out to the 6g, and listed at 10% under (setting up the Auctionator for 10% undercut versus the "preset" 5%).

Around 30 minutes later, he hollered out "holy s#$%! Alto, you were right! I just sold a glyph or 125g!". That is the feeling I look for. Hearing that just made me realize once again why I do what I do. I have a blog to inform. I have a blog to help. But behind all that, I guess my main vice is greed. I enjoy giving advice and getting that feedback of a job well done. When I help someone, I get a feeling of pride. It's my drug. I actually get a high from it. No, not that hazy, gotta eat cheesy puffs high, not that "seeing sounds and hearing colors" high, but a boost of adrenaline (I am not a doctor, I am sure there is a name for it....maybe that's my addiction?).

Back to the title of my post, Help! I need Somebody! I need to feed my addiction....

I am once again gonna toss this out there. Are you stuck making gold? Are you at a stall point? Have I done a post that you are completely confused how to pull off? Holler. Send me an email with a question, and in the subject line write blogpost. I will either respond to you in email or you will see your answer posted. This isn't a "I have this, this, and this, and I don't know what to do", that is more for my coaching program. I am looking for a specific issue you have, and I will help you get through it.

So help me help you. =) Thanks again!

Making gold with Inscription

Someone asked how scribes can make gold. To the best of my knowledge there's 2 ways: Fortune Cards and Darkmoon Cards.

Fortune Cards

Requires: Inscription 450
Materials: 1x Blackfallow Ink, 1x Resilient Parchment
Personal gold making record: 80k in 3 hours

If you're unfamiliar with these, they are created by scribes and when used, they will turn into a card worth a few silver coins or even 5000g if you're lucky. Fortune Cards were a popular gold making technique during the first weeks after Cataclysm. Now it's too widely known, at least on bigger realms, for any scribe to make lots of gold from it. Some of the smaller realms don't have any of these for sale, so there's still profit to be made there.

One Fortune Card costs about 10g to make on most realms. However, if you're the only one selling these cards, you can even ask 400g for one card, giving you 390g profit per card in this case.

Whatever you do, do not open them. There's no gold to be made then. There's profit only if you get buyers addicted to them.

If you're gonna sell these, most don't even know what they are if they happen to stumble upon them in the auction house, so you have to advertise your cards first. Here's an example of a macro.

/2 Feeling lucky? Mysterious Fortune Cards now for sale! Every card will turn into 10s-5000g! Visit your local auction house before someone else does!

Darkmoon Cards of Destruction

Requires: Inscription 525
Materials: 10x Inferno Ink, 30x Volatile Life, 1x Resilient Parchment

This is even more well known, but it doesn't make it any less effective either. Every new level 85 drools at these, so they are bound to make lots of gold, especially if you get useful cards. Most profit are made if you get to complete a set, creating a Darkmoon Deck, and even more if you turn it into a trinket.

Easy One Click Macro- Disenchanting, Milling, Prospecting

Hey folks! I have a quick post this morning covering Macros. Now alot of you are probably aware of this, but I know there are alot of people out there still doing the click, click, clicks....

Since Cata (and even before for a select amount of you) there has been a ton of gold to be made in multiple ways, but most of them being Milling Herbs, Prospecting Ore, and D/E'ing mass amounts of crafted gear. If you are unfamiliar with macros, here's your chance to save a ton of time.

There are a few ways to go about setting them up, either by name (ex. Elementium Ore) or you can utilize wowhead's item number (ex. http://www.wowhead.com/item=52185 ). The number that is after the = sign is the one we are looking at. This is highly recommended for all your macro's involving multiple items, such as the "Obsidium Shuffle", where you are disenchanting multiple "styles" of....for instance.....jasper rings. Since they have a random enhancement (35 to be exact, not counting "blue" procs) it would be killer to type in all the names of each of them, so all you have to utilize is the wowhead code (52306).

Alright, now we are ready to get started. Go into your options menu, and click on MACROS. You will see this screen pop up, and you will go to the bottom and click New. You will then have a window open allowing you to "pick a pic", as well as a name for your new macro. Do it? Ok. You can see on this macro to the right, I am using the names (like mentioned above). On the screenie below, I will be using the wowhead "numbers".

Now for the "guts" of Macros. Basically, all you have to do is tell the "program" what you are wanting to do.

Disenchanting (name):
/cast disenchant
/use Carnelian Spikes

Or Wowhead (number):
/cast disenchant
/use item:52492

Now the Milling and the Prospecting are basically the same way:

Milling:
/cast Milling
/use Cinderbloom

Prospecting:
/cast Prospecting
/use Obsidium Ore

Now I want you to look at the bottom of the "window" for macro's. See where it says 97 out of 255 characters used? You can put in as many as the 255 characters will allow per macro. If you look at mine, you can see I have multiple "items" on each of the macro's listed. Feel free to fill up your macro with all the items you can (up to the 255 limit).

Ok, that is my quick lesson on the basics. Now all you do is click and drag the icon from your macro screen to your taskbar and start "tasking" away!  What, you want more? Okay, one more. To the left is one that I have been using lately, as the #show is an addition that (believe it or not) one of my in game farmers told me about....It will show on your macro how many (in this case) Obsidium Ores that I am prospecting (little 2000 picture)

Hope this helps you save some time, and if you are a "Macro Pro" (as I am only an amateur), please leave a comment for anything that you might want to add that I didn't cover!
