It's all about 4.2- Inscription, Jewelcrafting, And.....

Hey folks!

4.2 is here, a "day late and a dollar short"; I was able to get on finally, and after a bit of a download, I did my usual post patch schtuffs. Updated Curse Client Addons (must have), Post/Repost, check the trainers, etc, etc. I thought I would share some of what is going on, and what you need to check on if you haven't already.

Inscription Trainer:

We have a few new items to craft (you might remember from a previous post of mine to get these asap) and hopefully you are tossing em up on the AH and already have sales.

Bloodthirsty Charm of Triumph
Bloodthirsty Eyeball of Dominance
Bloodthirsty Jawbone of Conquest

*If you didn't notice with these, they have prismatic sockets to get filled....more sales, right? =)

I hope that you also listened to me about the new Glyph of Unleashed Lightning and you had your Snowfall Ink and Ink of the Sea in your bags ready for your Northrend Research (if not, get it, because although there was premeditated thoughts on these, I have sold two so far):

Jewelcrafting Trainer:
Once again, I hope that you were prepared- We received a few craftables that burn up some of the Amberjewel and Ocean Sapphire that we have accumulated with shuffling (and Inferno Ruby-don't hate; although some servers are saying 200+ gold for uncuts, when you craft them into the signet or choker, you can get upwards of 4-500g for each for them):

Bloodthirsty Amberjewel Band
Bloodthirsty Ruby Signet
Bloodthirsty Sapphire Ring
Bloodthirsty Amberjewel Pendant
Bloodthirsty Ruby Choker
Bloodthirsty Sapphire Necklace

Now for some random SS since the patch, you might enjoy, and frankly, well, maybe they just don't get your goat. Either way, here they are....Oh, if you are wondering where the rest of the updates for 4.2 are, they are coming. Stay tuned. Same time (maybe), same channel (maybe).

TSM- Glad it was up and running- but there
are updates, make sure and download.

A few sales right when I logged in...

Making gold selling rings and amulets

Aution House often has a void between level 29-65 rings and amulets. If you have Jewelcrafing, you can make a ton of gold by supplying lowbies with the said rings, preferably blue quality ones with important stats.

The material costs are usually unbelievably low, meaning you can buy the raw materials from the Auction House and there is no need to prospect. Sometimes it's the other way around, and the gems are selling for 50-100g each. In this case it's often wise to prospect these gems and sell them as they are.

What to create and how valuable are they?
All of the level 29-65 rings are useful. It's a good idea to create 2 of each rings and one of each amulet and see which sells fast.

From my experience the following have been selling the fastest, and I've usually been the only one selling them, save a few exceptions, so they are also the most profitable for me.

Some have sockets in them. Put some red gems into them and you can raise it's price by even 200g!

I never ask for less than 50g a piece. Depending on how valuable the materials are, I sell each for 50-400g and they all go within a few days usually, especially the ones with a lower price tag on them.

There are exceptions though, such as Aquamarine Signet which has a random enchantment on them. This could give crappy stats, such as agi and spirit, which is not a very nice combination of stats. I usually sell these for about 20g instead.

Check level 10-16 items aswell!
There are times when there are none of the low level jewelry for sale. These items sell the fastest, so if you get the chance, this will make you rich! An example ring would be Inlaid Malachite Ring. I've sold many of these for even 40g each, even though they cost about 90 silver to make usually!

Not sure which ore prospects into what? Do a wowhead search and check the prospects into tab!

Stockpiling for 4.2- Tanks? You're Welcome!

Hey folks!

Instead of me hyping up what you are needing to stockpile for 4.2 and making a killer long post that you will only read part of, I am giving some link love to a few other bloggers, so we will see what they are looking for. After you do some clicking around, c'mon back and see what I am working with...

So what Blizz announced, or not really announced, is that you need to complete quests to even get into Firelands? Sounds vaguely familiar....Ok, let's get a bit further into what is out there...Patch 4.2 Preview, a Blizz video (below), and a bunch of comments everywhere. But frankly, I am basically as lost now as I was an hour ago when I started writing this post....- CONTINUED-

Mageshadow from JMTC- Stockpile TrueGold
Well folks today is a rather big gold making tip for patch 4.2. Patch 4.2 is bringing a ton of new recipes & I was browsing through some of ptrwowhead stuff and I was looking at Truegold. I found a number of items that will require insane amount of truegold in 4.2. I found a total of 7 Blacksmithing Craftables and 2 Engineering schematics that will need Truegold for 4.2. Below are all the items and their respective PTR Wowhead links. -CONTINUED-

I've been looking at the list of new profession recipes for patch 4.2 at Wowhead and have come up with a list of items to start stockpiling. Now the information we have so far is very prelimenary so this list is also preliminary, and might change as new information becomes available. If I change what I'll  be stockpiling I will make another post about it. -CONTINUED

I have been stockpiling trade goods in preparation for patch 4.2, with the various new items coming I intend to make a profit by preparing. Here are some screenshots of some of my current stockpiled materials [to give you an idea of what I think is worth Stockpiling]
I am sure there are more that have wrote a bit, so please holler in comments if I forgot about you and you have quality content, as these are just a few of the ones I have seen, and probably missed some others....
Alright, are you ready to hear what I am stockpiling? Drum roll, please......how about nothing?! I know, wait a sec, hear me out.
Through doing the "Shuffle", I have quite a few Blue Cata Gems (around a tab full) that are just collecting dust in a guild bank, which will be crafted and put on the AH, and I will probably be resetting the market on Inferno Rubies, Amberjewels, and Ocean Sapphires for those in need:

I also keep a normal Stockpile (if you will) of Volatiles. Although small quantities, these are mainly for when I see the prices fluctuate, I will post them up or buy them out. One that I have been holding onto is Volatile Earth. Why is that? Well, for our fellow Plate Tanks. There is a "new" leg armor that will be available, the Drakehide Leg Armor. Those that read the patch notes know that in 4.2, well....there are some changes. Instead of me explaining, here's a few comments from wowhead:
By Orranis (2·13·47) 11 days ago (Patch 4.1.0)
This is the obvious step taken to make tank pants enchants not worthless after the change to Agility not providing dodge in 4.2.

By Nathanyel (3·24·277) 10 days ago (Patch 4.1.0)
Of course this only applies to the plate tanks, bears are still better off with a Charscale Leg Armor - you get less Dodge out of the Agility than with this one, but the Agility also gives you Crit and AP, which improve your Savage Defense.

See where I am going with this? There will be quite a market for these on your server, so if you have a leatherworker, or know one, make sure and get this pattern asap, and get them tossed up on the AH. *It seems that this is a pattern bought using 10 Heavy Savage Leather from your trainer, so you might want to stock them up JIC.

Now as the other folks mentioned in the posts above, there are new craftables in nearly every profession that pops. New PvP gear for Blacksmiths/Leatherworkers/Tailors that will be quick sales, A few Engineering recipies, and a mess of "here and there's". Most of those will be using Volatile Fire and Volatile Water, so tell you what, do your homework, and stockpile your own little chunk of what you plan to make right away. Deal?

I cannot emphasize this enough. MAKE SURE YOU ARE FIRST ON YOUR SERVER TO SELL THESE GOODS! If you are resetting the market on "x" material, make sure and keep a tight eye on them. Patches are a great chance to make some killa gold, are you going to be in that group? Or wishing a week into it that you did?

Need more gold? Make "some" from Cataclysm epic gems

It's almost certain that after a patch or two, most likely patch 4.3, you can receive new epic gems by prospecting Pyrite Ore. There is also a super small chance (Considering titanium was at some point not prospectable) that a new ore or some other way to receive the gems will be introduced, but it's worth a small investment, let's say 5000g!

Pyrite's price has been steadily dropping and I've managed to snatch lots of them for even 20g/stack. Even now they give profit just from the green and blue gems, but once they start giving epics too, the profit is just ridiculous. If you're the first one selling a certain gem, you can even ask 1000g for one cut, and once others have the same design too, even 300g per gem profit is still likely.

How much gold is there to be made from Pyrite?
The chance to get a epic gem from 5 ores will most likely be around 27% like previously, so you will obtain loads of them if you start stockpiling today. But remember, they are months away most likely, so there is no hurry. Buy some when you see them cheap; and don't forget to create a guild and use the bigger bank!

I will create an another post regarding which designs to go for in order to get the maximum amount of gold, once the time has come.

During Wrath I almost reached gold cap from nearly half-way just from prospecting Wrath equals once the epic gems were available. I had my banks full of Tit ore!

And because you can't make lots of gold from Pyrite yet, I'll give 2 bonus tricks on how to make gold by prospecting!

Older Ores are still extremely valuable
Even if most don't need Wrath epic gems anymore, you can still make a huge profit off them. So while browsing for Pyrite Ore, search for Titanium Ore aswell while at it. You wouldn't believe how cheap it goes sometimes, and red gems are extremely valuable!

Other items to keep an eye on are TBC gems, prospected from Adamantite and Fel Iron Ore. Fel Iron Ore is often more expensive than Adamantite, so biggest profit comes from Adamantite in most cases.

The profit comes from uncut green gems which are needed by Jewelcrafters in order to level up. These can be sold for even 30g each if no one else is selling them (which usually is the case), meaning a prospected stack can give even 240g back! A stack of these ores cost about 20g on a good day; and sometimes a whopping 100g. Still, the profit is there!

If you choose to prospect Adamantite Ore, you will get Adamantite Powder too which I've sold for 70-150g each when no one else is selling. These too are the only way to level past a certain point, so people are ready to pay!

These ores may make you rich!
Here's a list of ores that have given me the best profit when prospected, so if you see some going cheap, try it out! You can give Copper Ore a try also, it's cheap but the gems aren't that valuable usually. And if no one is selling amulets and rings you could make from the gems, there's even larger profit to be made!

- Iron Ore
- Mithril Or
- Thorium Ore
- Fel Iron Ore
- Adamantite Ore
- Saronite Ore
- Titanium Ore
- Obsidium Ore
- Elementium Ore
- Pyrite Ore (Not yet!)

All the low level ores give green gems that are often valuable when sold as they are. There is no point asking for less than 25g for a Star Ruby or a Jade for example.

Check the gem availability before prospecting, just to be safe! And if people start undercutting you, don't worry. JCs need lots of them! But if the prices go too low, it's a good idea to buy the 1-12g gems and relist them for their proper price!

Sell Wrath gems! Get rich!

While gem shopping with one of my alts I noticed that there's a serious fault in the AH. There wasn't even a single useful, cut WOTLK gem for sale, even though I was playing on a high population realm. Every gem was a Cata gem, not usable by level <-80 people.

I then logged on my JC and bought some relatively cheap uncut Wrath gems and also cobalt, saronite and tit ores which I then prospected for even more gems. Red gems were the ones that I was after, as they offer the best leveling stats, such as str, agi and int. Stamina is also a good choice if you get blue gems.

Lots of gem choices! But which one is the best?

I focused on the following gems:

Bold Scarlet Ruby
Bold Cardinal Ruby
Delicate Scarlet Ruby
Delicate Cardinal Ruby
Brilliant Scarlet Ruby
Brilliant Cardinal Ruby
Solid  Sky Sapphire
Solid Stormjewel

After a hour, 5 gems were already sold, making me a profit of about 1000g already. I listed epic gems for 300g and blue gems for 200g. Next day there was still no competition and almost all of them were sold.

Note that low population realms have less leveling characters, so Wrath gem sales might not be fast on some realms. Mainly brutal gladiators need these.

Where to get epic gems?

There are a couple of ways besides buying from AH.

- Purchasable with 165 Honor
- Purchasable with 220 Justice Points
- Prospect from Titanium Ore, 29% chance
- Alchemy Transmutation

Caution: High auction fees!

One of the setbacks in gem selling is the high auction house fees. Even a 12 hour duration epic gem cuts a hole into your purse. If possible, try to sell these in trade chat instead, or use the lowest duration you can.

As always, "WTS Wotlk gems" does not make people think after reading it.

This is an example how to get people to pay attention to your message: "Got alts with empty gem sockets? Want to raise your leveling speed? Make use of Wrath epic gems! {skull}Str, Agi, Int{skull} Everything is available! /w me or check AH"

Juicy 4.2 PTR Profession Changes - Hallow's End and Brewfest Updates

MMO Champion just announced some new changes to 4.2 PTR:

A few major changes in Inscription, Jewelcrafting and Leatherworking. To read more, please refer to: PTR BUILD 14133

Inscription

Jewelcrafting

Leatherworking

They are updating as I am posting this, so there might be more or less, give and take. As always, these are just datamined, so they are subject to change....

Updated:

WoWHead has also added their two cents on the PTR:

Not the PTR Already....4.2.0 Profession Changes

So here's the latest and greatest information pertaining to the updated (although PTR info) professions. Wowhead has the goods if you want to get a bit farther into what you can make and what the current materials are. Just be aware that there will be changes, but this at least gives you a good start on what to stockpile (if you aren't already).

As you can see, Bloodthirsty is the "generic" name given to EVERY SINGLE ONE of the new designs (or revamped), and knowing Blizz, it will be special....suuuuure.

*Edit- Brian stated in comments that these are all available from the vendors using honor points. What is changing is that they will become craftable in 4.2.0 as well as go from a i352 to a i358 and drop the "gladiator" from the title.

Here is an example of the stats, and as you can see, they are currently sitting at i358, which probably won't move much, so we at least can figure something is in stone. As of right now, it seems that the mats are the near to the same as the current craftables....which in other words just means profit, profit, profit for those that make them.

Now some folks are already predicting that the recipies will only be drops from raids/etc in Firelands, but I am not a believer of this. These will be added to the trainers like every other "mass" set of gear that is out there. No reason for blizzard to drop blue recipies for a whole "tier" of gear in instances, so if you are the stockpiling type, and you have a "crafting" profession, getcha mats ready for when 4.2.0 goes live.

Thanks to HWoodlockheart on Twitter, as Kaliope has a similar post as seen on PTR- Kaliope, fix your RSS so I can add you to my blogroll! Jeez!

Jewelcrafting Daily- Did You Forget About It Too?

God. I missed another day of posting. Sometimes RL gets way to busy with my WoW life. But hey, the tooltip on the login screen says to get outside of Azeroth once in a while, right? And we are supposed to listen right? Hahaha.

As the title states, my JC daily has dropped from a "mos def, everyday" to more like a "huh? oh yeah, the daily....I will get to it before I log off". Is the same thing happening to you? Since this little daily "moved" into the building she used to whore herself outside of, I have done one daily in the last week. As I have not logged into Alliance, I am not sure of their situation, but if you are Horde, you know exactly what and where I am going....You probably aren't doing them either, am I right?

The issue we run into now is we are losing gold. An absolute ton of it. Why you ask? We aren't getting Illustrious Jewelcrafter's Tokens, so we are not getting the stockpile for epic gem cuts when they come out. And that is a HUGE loss.

In WoW and in RL, we all make mistakes. What we hopefully pull off is learning from them. I am making a statement with learning from this. What I am going to do is log off AT THE JC DAILY. Not near the AH, not in the bank, not infront of the mailbox, right next to Marith Lazuria like I am her own personal stalker. Eww. That really sounds creepy....

So this is a really short post, but a very important one. Don't forget them dailies, as they are a great investment and will have a HUGE return in the future. Playas play on!

Who let the Dogs Out? Alto's BoW WoW

Hey folks! Let's see what happens with this....With less than 3% of my pageviews actually going to my blogroll, I figure that ya'll are missing out on some great content written by other gold bloggers. For those that aren't looking, you really need to start, as there is a ton of great information posted weekly.

If this flows great with you all, I will continue this process weekly. Sound good? Let my know below in comments if you love it or hate it!

Oh, you are wondering about the BoW WoW? Best of the Week in World of Warcraft. Can you tell if the Adderall kicked in yet? I am not too sure, so forgive me if the links are broken....holler out if they are below, and I will fix em asap.

*As usual, please don't skim through this post, unless you have read each of these blogposts. Deal? Deal. Let's get it started in here! (bad music reference there....I know. Sorry about that).

PowerWordGold-
Guest Post by Torgal
With Patch 4.1 there are now two new pet-related achievements: Petting Zoo for collecting 100 companion pets and Menagerie for collecting 125. How can we as gold-makers profit from the increased demand for companion pets (AKA mini-pets, vanity pets)? Find out after the jump.

Great list of Vendor Items to Flip
I normally don't list minor gold making methods, but I think this deserves a mention because it requires almost no time at all to perform so it can be combined with other gold making tactics.

Enchanting in 4.1.0
For those of you who are still having difficulty with enchanting and aren't sure what to sell this entry is for you. Basically it's a quote from EJ and every class/spec forum of the recommended enchants for every slot.
"How to" Questing for the Panther Cub 4.1.0
Today I will be showing you the quest chain to get your very own Panther Cub, from the quest chain that was just implemented in Patch 4.1.0. -continued-

Alchemy
I have been playing in the potion market on my server after taking my second Alchemist to swap alchemy specializations to potion master.  Early into the release of Cataclysm, there was no profit to be made in either the flask or potion markets. -continued-

Arena Changes in 4.1.0
The inexplicably undocumented Arena point change has been a huge blow to my drive to PvP in WoW. In case you missed it - you know, focusing on all the gold-making and "versus AH" opportunities - the way Conquest points are earned have been radically changed.

Barking Mysterious Fortune Cards- Not Good!
If you are a canine, this may be news to you. If you're not, you're going duuuuuh.
But because you know we're talking about World of Warcraft, you know what I'm referring to.

4.1.0 Obsidium Shuffle
By far I think the biggest change we all want to talk about is the Obsidium shuffle. Yes gem prices did change lets see here all green quality cut Cata gems dropped to 75s which is huge. Where the green quality cut Cata perfect gems dropped to 90s vendor value

Professions, You Got 'Em? But are they the Right Ones?

Wow. What a whirlwind weekend. During our Easter Holiday, my daughter and I went on an egg hunt, had a blast, hit up a petting zoo (and she tried to kiss a duck- not good...no, she didn't get hurt) and spent some time with the family. Good times.

Due to that, my blog missed a couple posts, and I didn't log into wow for two days. Needless to say, I had a few mails waiting that needed addressed...

Enough of that, what I want to hit on today is Professions. Most folks know that having professions equates to having gold. Don't get me wrong, you can make quite a bit of gold without them, but you can make a shitton more with them. You can make even more if you have ones that mesh. And if you aren't skeered to powerlevel them (and know when to change them by watching your AH) you can make even more. Let me explain....

Ok. You are a farmer. You pick Ore. Or Herbs. Well, you probably teamed up with Herbalism and Mining on the same toon. What? You have mining and an Engineer? Ok, makes sense. You are losing out on herbs, but you are gaining the proc Volatile Air....does it even out pricewise? Nah. I did it, I don't follow the hype. I was getting near a 8% proc per node. Not profitable, I went back to Herbalism. See where I am going with this? One, you can't believe all that you hear, and two, you must check once in a while to see if your professions are profitable, and change when needed.

Ok. You are a Obsidium Shuffler. You have Jewelcrafting and Enchanting. You take the Ore, you prospect it, you craft goods, then you D/E. Gotcha. But what if you don't have an Enchanter? You are paying someone to D/E for you? Why? Have you realized your losses? What about time lost? Yeah, it's probably quite a bit....what about *cough* stolen mats? Are you actually getting back what you should in your disenchanting? I sure hope so....

Ok. You are a Glyper. You have a Scribe. What? An actual solo profession? Yeah, it is. Well, you do need herbs. You can mill them, get the pigments, then turn them into inks, then create glyphs....wow. you don't really need anything else? But.....

Ok. You are an Alchemist. You need herbs to make your flasks. Thats it. But then you use your transmutes. You need uncut greens for Shadowspirits. You need ore/bars for Truegold. What's that? You need Volatile Lifes too? Another Transmute? yeah. More options....

See where I am going here? I hope so. Reheck your Professions. See if you have the most profitable ones. Do they mesh together or defeat the purpose? Do you have Blacksmithing and never see bars in the AH?

Do you have Leatherworking but can never find leather? By now, you should know your professions and how they are helping or hurting you. Either pat yourself on your back or get to work, and have your professions work for you, and not you work for them.

What? You are wondering what those SS are throughout the post? The Train-a-tron in Azshara of course. One stop shop for training. Second floor of the inn. Approx 57, 50.7 if you have GPS. =)

"Blue Gems" and the upcoming 4.1.0

In the JMTC meeting last night, there was a normal question that has came up basically every week for the last month. What do I do with all my Rare Cata Uncuts?

Well, I popped out an answer, but it has a few things behind it....

Patch notes are showing that:

"Crafted epic armor is having gem sockets added"

Now we know that crafted epics are i359's. We know that depending on which, we will see "un-socketed" gear from the very moment that we can log in on Tuesday. What does that mean for us? Yeah, you get the picture... Get your cut gems ready now. Not on Monday night, not on Tuesday afternoon, get em cut now, and get ready to drop them in the AH asap after the reset.

There will be an insane flood to the auction house for gems and gear (for those that don't watch notes) for folks wanting to get their ilvl up for the ZA and ZG randoms. Blizz states that there is a i346 "requirement" to get in....

Speaking of armor, there is also a little change to PvP that they mention as well....and it's not pretty. For those that are pounding out PvP leatherworking and blacksmithing goods, that might change really quick. With the mention of "Honor Points being doubled in 4.1.0", the market will slow to a trickle, but not completely dry up. Still keep em posted, but keep your eye out for market fluctuations.

More to come the next few days....I have a busy weekend with Easter and all, so posts will be very sporadic the next few days. Worst case, have a great holiday, and don't eat too many Cadbury's....and make sure to find all those eggs (or better yet, hide plastic ones!).

Have you got the achievement yet? In my guide, I give tips and tricks of the AH trade in a concise, easy to understand and follow matter. Ever wonder how I decide what market to invest in? Ever wonder anything AH wise? I walk you through the best ways! Come check it out!
